| Abstract | This document discusses inservice education reform, begun in 1972 and continuing to the present, undertaken to reflect changes (both structural and content) in the elementary-secondary education program of Sri Lanka. Required was a coordinated country-wide program providing continuing education and geared to the social and economic needs of the country. The document is divided into eight chapters, dealing with (1) background to the situation, (2) inservice education program objectives, (3) existing infrastructure for supporting inservice education programs, (4) description of the activities of the curriculum development center in formalizing an inservice education program, (5) financial support for the program, (6) program evaluation, (7) problems in goal attainment, and (8) projected future developments.
