Abstract | This volume is the second of a three-volume report of a national study whose primary objectives were to quantify resource utilization patterns of vocational education programs effectively serving special needs populations and to develop a methodology for estimating resources required to successfully serve these populations. It is a compendium of descriptions of successful programs serving vocational education disadvantaged students. It is intended to be a resource document for those interested in developing and/or improving programs to serve the population (State consultants, local administrators, teachers, counselors, etc.). Fifty-five entries are included in the compendium, drawn from the total of 158 programs surveyed during the study. The entries are categorized by program type and by program environment in order to facilitate the reader's particular interest in specific types of programs and settings. Each compendium entry has been written to conform to a general format consisting of seven parts: (1) Identification information, (2) program information, (3) instructional program, (4) special features, (5) results of evaluation efforts, (6) funding mechanisms, and (7) who to contact for more information.
