Abstract | The concepts and practices of local school evaluation, as implemented in the Cincinnati Public Schools, are described. The conceptual framework of local school evaluation, which is based upon the needs of local schools, and attempts to incorporate evaluation with instructional activities, is presented. The components of the framework are: (1) needs assessment, (2) diagnosis of entry behavior, (3) assessment of implementation, and (4) assessment of end results. Also described is an operational network which insures cooperative efforts by evaluators and instructional staff. Illustrations and practical suggestions are provided for potential users of this concept. (Author) |
