Abstract | This listener's guide introduces the first four of nine monthly programs in the American Issues Radio Forum series that were braodcast by the member stations of the National Public Radio system. These broadcasts started in September 1975 and continued to May 1976. They formed a "live" national dialogue, focusing upon issues which have confronted America. Each program was divided into three parts, one hour each, and incorporated both studio guest experts and listener's call-in comments into the discussion. The guide includes questions for thought, background material, and discussion ideas for each of the following four programs: (1) A Nation of Nations, (2) The Land of Plenty, (3) Certain Unalienable Rights, and (4) A More Perfect Union--The American Government.
