AbstractSponsored by the Arizona State Department of Education, Division of Vocational Education, a series of three-day clinics were held in March of 1973, with followup clinics two months later. The 121 participants included parents and students as well as professional personnel. As part of the program, participants were given a pretest and post-test to assess their knowledge in selected areas of vocational and career education, and were divided into task force groups to define their problems and work on solutions. The followup clinics stressed the development and group critiquing of plans for vocational education. The objectives of the clinics were that the participants would be able to: (1) formulate performance objectives, (2) list some inputs and outputs in their programs and be able to identify ways of evaluating them, (3) determine relationships between vocational and career education, (4) apply the decision-making process, and (5) submit a plan for vocational education. Evaluation of the project showed that it was successful in fulfilling its goals, and that funding should be continued for future clinics. Appendixes to the report include the clinic program, planning strategies, examples of submitted plans from several Arizona high schools, and evaluation materials. (RG)
