Abstract | A guide to career training programs below the baccalaureate level in Connecticut was compiled from a survey of all schools offering identifiable programs of formal education for careers. Intended as a tool to assist students and guidance counselors in learning about the schools and programs, the guide does not recommend any specific schools or programs. Among the types of schools included are State regional vocational-technical schools, business schools, cosmetology schools, flight schools, hospital schools, trade and technical schools, State technical colleges, State colleges and university divisions, State community colleges, junior colleges, private colleges and universities, and some special schools. The first section provides an occupational cross-index of Connecticut vocational education and career training programs, organized alphabetically by occupational areas; the second is an alphabetical directory of the schools. Basic information and general admission requirements are included for each entry, as well as a listing of vocational programs offered. Not included are vocational programs offered by local school systems, as it is assumed that students have access to this information. (Author/MF) |
