AbstractThe bulletin contains curriculum materials which emphasize career awareness, exploration, and preparation level programs; career guidance and counseling; and personnel development. Each section provides background information generally supplied by the Oregon Department of Education. This basic information is followed by examples of materials presented by local school districts. The seven sections deal with: (1) building career education into the curriculum; (2) career awareness (an overview, student outcomes with grade level activities, and administration and staff development); (3) career exploration (State definition, examples of cluster orientation activities, cluster exploration, exploratory work experience, career decision making, and student outcomes); (4) career preparation (the cluster concept with information and objectives for specific job clusters, classification of career clusters, and integration of the career experience); (5) occupational specialization; (6) career guidance and counseling (philosophy, needs assessment, and grade level objectives); and (7) summary of Oregon's personnel development methods (cadre training, development centers, preservice and inservice programs, and sample training materials). A list of 20 references, coded as to source and availability on a loan or permanent basis, is included. (Author/MS)
