AbstractThe report provides an account of how the U.S. Office of Education's discretionary Vocational Education Research Program for 1975 was planned and implemented. It contains information about the legislative and regulatory framework for Section 131 (a) of Part C Research Program, as stated in the Vocational Education Amendments of 1968 Act. Five research priority areas were determined: (1) administration of vocational education at the State level; (2) administration of vocational education at the local level; (3) comprehensive systems of guidance, counseling, placement, and follow-through services; (4) educational personnel serving the educationally disadvantaged, handicapped, and minorities; and (5) curriculum, demonstration, and installation studies. The processes used to implement the award program are outlined, and the award outcomes are discussed in terms of an overview of the purposes and expected results of the funded projects. A total of 361 applications were received for consideration. Synthesis papers are presented for the priority areas with the exception of the fourth. Abstracts are included for all funded projects, arranged by priority area (22 in State level administration, 16 in local level administration, 19 in guidance and counseling, 17 in administration for the handicapped and minorities, and 12 in curriculum) and for eight special projects of national significance.
