Abstract	Summaries of the seven chapters and 12 proposals contained in the final report are presented in the document. Chapter 1: Introduction, discusses the roles assigned by society to schools and the workplace; Chapter 2: A Framework for Studying the Education-To-Work Transition, explores the subject area and how it has been handled; Chapter 3: Survey of Current Linkages, presents procedures and results of a four-State survey; Chapter 4: Survey Analysis and Interpretation, and Chapter 5: Alternative Linkage Approaches, combine to analyze survey findings and provide analytic structure for linkage development: Chapter 6: Barriers and Proposals, lists and discusses 12 proposals and four categories of barriers; Chapter 7: Recommendations for Further Research and Development for the National Institute of Education, discusses recommendations.
