Abstract | Research studies in which severely retarded adults have been trained to perform complex industrial tasks are reviewed. It is explained that results demonstrate that retarded workers can learn to insert electronic components into a printed or etched circuit board. Reported is a pilot study which is investigating two adult retardates' ability to assemble a large number of parts using a match-to-sample training procedure. (CL) |
