Abstract	One of several World Affairs Guides, this booklet focuses on India as a region to be included in any K-12 social studies curriculum plan. It is felt that modern students in the United States should know a great deal about other significant areas of the world. India is thought to be significant because of its rich history, cultural contributions, regional political influence, large population, potential power, and comparative value as a case study of development. The following sections are contained in the guide: The Importance of Studying India, Some Difficulties in Teaching About India, Background and Ideas to Stress, Curriculum Proposals and Methods, Resources for Studying India, and Addresses of Organizations and Publishers.
