Abstract | The responsiveness of Georgia's universities, senior, and junior colleges to the state's students is reported. Many new programs were added, modified, or expanded, and were implemented to keep up-to-date with requirements for new types and emphases of instruction, research, and public service that reflect rapidly changing technology and economic and social conditions. Among the several major areas in which university system programs were added or substantially changed were medicine and other fields of human health care, veterinary medicine, teacher education, and vocational-technical education. Two new junior colleges were opened and two additional ones were under development. Progress continued in nondiscrimination activities. Many programs of instruction, research, public service, and employment were offered without regard to race, color, sex, religion, or national origin. The state appropriation for the year was substantially more than that of the previous fiscal year.
