Abstract | The in-basket simulation package was designed to help students learn about working in a department store. Various activities commonly occurring in retailing are simulated through the use of written memos and telephone messages. The learning activities were written for use in either a traditional classroom or a model store. The goal of the package is to acquaint the student with situations surrounding various tasks that must be performed in a store. The scope of topics presented was reduced to functions rather than positions in an effort to better enable the students to identify with the actual units of work to be performed. (Author/VA) |
