| Abstract | The six descriptive position papers were prepared after selection for the Multi-National Workshop on Basic and Functional Education for Adults. Those selected are significant innovative programs of adult education in other countries that may have direct applicability to improving program practices in various parts of the world. The six programs described are: Adult Education in Tanzania; A National Movement; The Functional Literacy and Family Life Planning Project (Thailand); Accion Cultural Popular (Colombia); Concorde--Honduras; Functional Education for Family Life Planning Project (Neuva Ecija, Philippines); and Village Polytechnics--Kenya. Each paper describes in detail the program's setting, organization and administration, program and activities, educational strategy, and future activities and projections. (BP) |
