Abstract | The Aides to Career Education (ACE) Program handbook is designed for use by administrators, teachers, and instructional aides. It provides information on the use of the aides by presenting guidelines for their most effective utilization, defining legal responsibilities of teachers and aides within the program, providing information on program accountability and evaluation, and providing supplementary material which includes information on the instructional job description, audio-visual techniques, referral agencies, and an annotated bibliography. The goal of the ACE Program in Los Angeles is to improve the educational performance and enhance the employability potential of students assisted. The handbook provides background of the ACE Program, defines and describes disadvantaged students, and defines the teacher's role in the program, the instructional aides role, the teacher/aide relationship, and program accountability.
