Abstract | The Conference Evaluation by Objectives method was designed to be an objective way of measureing program impact upon participants. At a convention program, speakers were asked to summarize their presentations in three or four participant-centered objectives. Participants were given a brief, easy to fill in and easy to tabulate form to evaluate the speaker by objectives. Results of participant evaluation were tabulated and sent immediately to the speaker. Speaker success in accomplishing identified speech objectives was evaluated. This evaluation included a simplified statistical analysis. Uses of this evaluation method, as described in this sample kit of forms, procedures, tabulation guidelines and examples, and data interpretation sample, include pinpointing: (1) effective sepakers, (2) effective presentations, (3) the most effective portion of any presentation, (4) benefits to participants, and (5) possible benefits to learners in institutions sending participants to conventions.
