Abstract | This pamphlet contains five reports on different aspects of the Oakleaf Small Computer Project. The major objective of the project was to individualize elementary mathematics instruction by using a fully-integrated system of computer-assisted instruction, evaluation, and class management. The curriculum used was based on IPI Mathematics. The reports given here provide detailed accounts of the operation of the system; student access to the machine, generation and scoring of tests, record-keeping functions, and many other topics are discussed. A study of the effects of practice at a computer terminal on the acquisition and retention of computational algorithms is also reported. (SD) |
