Abstract | The document reports on the activities undertaken and the results achieved in a project intended to develop cooperatives of food producers (including fisheries, farming and fruit growing) in Senegal. Three consultants were requested of and provided by the International Labor Organization, for the United Nations Development Program. Working with Senegalese assistants, one consultant was responsible for the project's preparatory phase (1968-9); following the laying of this groundwork, during the four-year operational phase of the project, two consultants participated in the realization of the plans, one in the economic, commercial, and financial aspects of the cooperatives' organization and one in the areas of education and personnel development. Six pages of conclusions are organized by sections devoted to each of the cooperatives; the educational activities are, however, analyzed separately. Four pages of general recommendations are presented, followed by specific recommendations aimed at each sector. The entire document is in French. (AJ) |
