AbstractThis book focuses on the public administration of education at the national level of governments. Specifically, it relates to functions and organization--rather than to educational systems per se. The first part is devoted to a multinational comparative analysis, presenting comparative data on functions and organization of the ministries, together with brief study findings. The next part contains national sections, each of which summariezes official materials on a country-by-country basis. Presented in these sections are some background data concerning the government setting in which educational administration functions; and the official bodies concerned with education. The study is based on official materials supplied or referenced by 69 governments in response to a questionnaire. (Author/WM)
