Abstract	This publication contains the hearings of the Special Subcommittee on Education of the House of Representatives, October 15 and November 15, 1973. The topic of discussion before the committee was student financial assistance and, more particularly, the theory and practice of need analysis. Discussion in October centered on the systems of need analysis computation used by the College Entrance Examination Board and the American College Testing Service. The November meeting detailed the development and use of the Bureau of Labor Statistics' low- and moderate- income standards, and financial level figures developed by the Social Security Administration. Extensive appendixes follow the minutes of the meetings and offer detailed statistics and information on the various need analysis procedures. (Author/PC)
