Abstract | Agricultural Education teacher educators are interested in and are making efforts to keep their training programs abreast of changing patterns and emphases in agricultural education. There is a real sense of interest and need among those people interviewed in this study for a better means of communication among teacher training institutions relative to what is being done to improve the training of vocational agriculture teachers. These are conclusions from a study whose aim was to determine what changes have taken place in recent years in the methods and requirements of training agricultural occupations teachers. The data desired was secured by means of a questionnaire which was used in a personal interview with the department chairman or some other member of the agricultural education staff, and by mailing the questionnaire to chairman of departments in other universities. (Data tables, and a 58 item list of practices reflecting changes and innovations in teacher education as reported through the questionnaires are included.) (KP) |
