Abstract	The INTELSAT (International Telecommunications Satellite) agreement was reached because of the desirability of continuing the development of a telecommunications satellite system. INTELSAT's aim was to achieve a single global commercial system as part of an improved global telecommunications network which will provide expanded services to all areas of the world and contribute to world peace and understanding. This document represents a multilateral agreement to set up INTELSAT, a list of signatories to the agreement, and the operating agreement relating to INTELSAT. (Author/SH)
