| Abstract | This is the sixth annual report of the Office of Executive Secretary of the Montana University System to the Regents of the Montana University System. The report covers the work of the Office of Executive Secretary from July 1, 1970 to June 30, 1971 in the areas of war orphans scholarship program, high school honor scholarship program, student financial aid, Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education, Higher Education Facilities Act of 1963 (Title I), comprehensive facilities planning, Higher Education Act of 1965, degree statistics, fee schedule, financial statement summaries, and enrollment reports. Major recommendations include the need for (1) funds appropriated to Regents to implement institutional research and studies relative to Montana's needs in postsecondary education, (2) establishment of institutional study officers, (3) funds for the Office of the Executive Secretary to accomplish the coordination of the community colleges in Montana, (4) funds appropriated to Regents to fund student assistance grants and scholarships, (5) an extensive facilities condition survey, (6) funding for remodeling projects, and (7) funds for land use analysis.
