Abstract | The Occupational Learning Center Program is an alternative high school experience for young people who are academically or socially unable to cope with the regular high school program. The curriculum includes development of basic skills, vocational development, personal and vocational counseling, and job placement and follow-up. Each student works at his or her own pace on individual assignments to complete the requirements of the program, which include successful performance on a job. The programs allows students to complete high school and develop career-related skills, thus preparing them for further education or for the world of work.
