| Abstract | Problems in planning and developing a curriculum for primary grades in developing countries are discussed in this booklet. It is noted that no generalizations can be made to cover all developing countries, but it is possibly worthwhile to list certain problems and restraints which are common to the majority of systems and which must be considered for any analysis of the primary school curriculum. Problems are covered in the areas of context and curriculum. Curriculum planning is described by elements of curriculum reform: basic information, curriculum objectives, curriculum strategy, curriculum process, and examinations and curriculum evaluation. Suggestions for further reading are also included. (PS) |
