| Abstract | This study was undertaken to: (1) provide information on Louisiana's Vocational and Technical Education Program, (2) serve as a basis for reporting to the citizens of Louisiana, and (3) fulfill the requirements of the State Advisory Council on Vocational Education for an annual evaluation. Findings obtained during the investigation process were: (1) present state plan projections seem inadequate, both from the standpoint of people to be served and projected resources needed, (2) there does not exist in the organizational structure clear lines of authority, administration, and supervision regarding the institutions under its jurisdiction, (3) the curriculum does not seem to be broad enough to accommodate the populations for which it was designed to serve, (4) not enough funds have been appropriated for vocational programs, (5) guidance and counseling departments are understaffed at all levels, and therefore are not able to fulfill their objectives, and (6) vocational programs do not appear to be guided by marketing trends.
