Abstract | This handbook was first planned for use by the teacher and students of two experimental introductory Spanish classes of the University of South Carolina, employing the materials "Espanol a lo vivo" during the 1971-72 and 1972-73 academic years. One group followed a traditional approach to instruction having class four times weekly, while the other group followed a booklet of performance objectives in their approach to individualized instruction. Language laboratory work was coordinated with the performance objectives outlined in the guide. Terminal objectives for 18 units are prescribed in this study and include language laboratory review questions. Instructions to the student include description of exact specifications of tasks required to demonstrate mastery of material and a statement of policies concerning language laboratory use. (RL) |
