Abstract | The Triple T final report documents describe the program from 1969 to 1971. One of the basic objectives of the project was to create statewide dialogue about problems in the area of social studies instruction, especially among Appalachian students, and about ways that social studies teachers and their teachers are trained. Three outcomes of the program are: 1) Recommended minimum standards for social studies teacher preparation programs in West Virginia; 2) Five teacher education models; and 3) A unified eclectic model entitled "Proposal to West Virginia Institutions of Higher Education for the Revision of Teacher Education Programs." The leadership and information dissemination functions of the project were successful and, moreover, all major objectives of the West Virginia Triple T Project were met. (Author/SJM) |
