Abstract | In order to determine if the vocational school graduates are adequately trained for their jobs, a survey eliciting the opinions and suggestions of industrial engineers and administrators who come in contact with the graduates was taken. From the total population of 450 metal plants employing over 20 workers each, a stratified sample of 39 plants was chosen and a questionnaire was used to collect the data. Some of the respondents believed that a broad theoretical basis should be given to vocational students, while others thought more time should be devoted to practical work. Several respondents suggested the introduction of a management and production trend. It was concluded that vocational schools should be diversified, so as to include additional "streams" and levels.
