Abstract | In most countries, industrialization is increasingly regarded as one of the principle activities needed to achieve and sustain a high level of development. In order to plan, implement, and operate the many complex programs and projects, a number of development training institutes have come into being. A 1962 survey revealed that the focus of the training was on problems of economic planning and that industrial development was considered only incidentally. In order to find ways to overcome this, three agencies established the first inter-regional Working Part on the training of economic administrators of developing countries in industrial development. This document contains the report of the Working Party's meeting in Paris from September 2-10 in 1965. Selected contributions of the organizers and participants in the meeting are included. (GEB) |
