Abstract | The activities, speeches, and reports of the participants and lecturers of Project DAWN (Deaf Adults With Need) during 1970 are presented. Project DAWN is designed to: (1) work with Adult Basic Education leaders in establishing programs applicable, attractive, and useful to the deaf community; and (2) motivate and help the deaf adult to take full advantage of these programs. The program covers a four-week period of intensive work in the following areas: (1) Community Leadership; (2) Philosophy, Organization and Administration of Adult Education Programs; and (4) Lecture Series Regarding Various Aspects and Problems of Deafness, Organization of Programs and Leadership. The 24 participants in the 1970 program came from 17 states. Four regional follow-up meetings were held in Wichita, Kansas, San Francisco, California, Chicago, Illinois, and New York City.
