Abstract	This document summarizes the authors ideas and ideas which were communicated during his meetings with various members of various national and international organizations. The purpose of these conversations was to study and evaluate the importance of the human factor which has determined the success of a demonstration farm at Vientiane and to evaluate the progress of the Laos project in relation to functional literacy. Specific subjects discussed included: (1) social and economic problems of the region, (2) social aspects of the introduction of irrigation to this region, (3) the need to study the present situation of the rural population; and (4) the obtaining of maximum coordination of national and international organizations for harmony in their efforts.
