| Abstract | This report describes the nature and ramifications of the employment problem in developing nations and presents the available empirical evidence. In addition to discussions of unemployment and the structure of employment, the report includes an analysis of the interrelationships between income distribution, nutrition, and productivity of the labor force. Employment trends in both industrial and agricultural sectors are projected, and the problem of collecting accurate data in developing countries is discussed. (BH) |
