| Abstract | The rationale and procedures for using role-playing in teacher education to provide teachers with practice in solving various classroom problems are illustrated by descriptions of 17 simulated situations based on secondary school biology classes. Thirteen simulations of out-of-class situations are also described. For each situation the teacher's objectives are specified, and some of the other participants are assigned particular roles to provide conflict for teacher to resolve. Techniques of implementing role-playing as a teacher training technique are suggested for inservice and preservice education, with specific dangers and advantages noted. (AL) |
