Abstract | As part of a report by the Economic Development Division of the Economic Research Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture, to the 1st session of the 92nd Congress, the socioeconomic conditions and trends of rural America in the 70's are described by way of statistical compilation of data. The report highlights the problems of rural people according to where they live in contrast to where others live. The document presents the material in 5 categories: Population, Income and Employment, Health and Education, Housing, and Government Services and Facilities. "Each of these sections is introduced by an overview statement on the subject matter included. The tables and charts are accompanied by a brief narrative on the particular set of figures presented."
