Abstract | This report describes the procedures necessary to develop a vocational education program to prepare the physically handicapped and culturally disadvantaged for entry level jobs and responsible citizenship. The 2-part model program includes a regular vocational program with supportive services for handicapped and disadvantaged students, and a separate program for those who cannot compete in the regular program even with supportive services. The separate program provides for entry into either a work-experience program or a regular vocational program after learning the basic knowledge and skills for an occupational cluster. In addition to describing administration and organization, the report discusses special qualifications required for faculty, curriculum, and facilities. (BH) |
