| Abstract | The fourth of seven modules on team teaching, this document deals with grouping children for instruction, in order that teachers may understand the purposes of grouping, the various kinds of grouping, the variables to be considered in choosing a method, the ways grouping can facilitate individualized instruction, and the need for a flexible system. The study material includes 1) a review of selected literature; 2) dialogues on grouping children; 3) an audio-tape, "The Individualization of Instruction: Pupil Grouping Practices," by Robert H. Anderson; 4) a film, "How Can You Apply Team Teaching and Nongrading to Your School System?" with a lecture by Madeline Hunter; 5) two articles: "New Uses of Class Size" by Dorothy Westby-Gibson, and "Can Large Group Instruction Provide for Individual Differences?" by Richard C. Wallace, Jr.; and 6) mastery tests for the study material. Additional material includes individual and group activities in connection with a filmstrip, "Grouping Students to Learn."
