| Abstract | Information from official government reports, professional writings of educators, and the works of Latin American specialists constitute the bulk of this publication. It is designed to provide an overview of the current educational situation in Latin America. This overview is provided by a brief discussion of historical background, the organization of Latin American education, and some of the problems presently plaguing the educational systems in the Southern Hemisphere.
