Abstract | Under the encouragement of the United Nations General Assembly, this booklet has been written to introduce community groups and voluntary organizations in the United States to the various activities and programs which can be undertaken this year. The two major areas of primary concern are: equal educational opportunity; and, the development of international awareness, understanding, and respect for people at home and abroad. The last chapter and the appendices have included: guidelines to program planning and activities; list of voluntary organizations for program support; publications; a directory of organizations; and, various United Nations resolutions on the purposes and objectives of programs in international education and the development of equal educational opportunity.
