Abstract | A review of the innovative and comprehensive educational programs in Alaska, funded under Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, is featured in this document. A brief sketch of the State of Alaska provides a basis of understanding of the rural education problems encountered in this large state. Each program instituted is discussed by the teachers and administrators directly involved, and those involved feel that the future Title I funds should allow for more innovative program development. Further, it is noted that those programs which have proved successful will be absorbed into the everyday program of the local school district and funded at the local level. (DB) |
