Abstract | Failure of commercial materials to meet the particular needs of the Navajo child resulted in development of this curriculum guide for non-English-speaking children. Teaching objectives and behavioral student objectives are presented for 5 areas of language arts (oral English, listening skills, cognitive processes, writing readiness, and formal reading readiness). Other subject areas included are social studies, numbers readiness, science, health and safety, physical education, and the expressive arts. Learning activities, instructional materials, and methods of presentation are suggested for the various subject areas. (JH) |
