Abstract	The faculty's grading practices at Harcum Junior College were determined by questionnaires in 1967 and in 1969. Recommendations for changing the grading procedure were invited. Little change was noted from 1967 and 1969. In the recent study, however, fewer faculty members assigned grades on the basis of class curves alone; more were using a combination of curve, numbers, and letters; and more faculty members required assigned papers as part of the grade. In 1969, an analysis of student mid-term progress reports was made, to see whether particular groups or courses were associated with poor academic progress. Results showed that 22% of the students received one or more F, and that residents received F's more often than day students. Certain courses and programs had a large percentage of failures. In 1969 an evaluation of the performance of "academic risk" students was made. It was concluded that their level of achievement (over 50% earning 2.0 or better) was high enough to warrant further inclusion of such students in the freshman class.
