Abstract	This report, the second part of a three-phase study on student mobility, operating under local funds and a government grant, was undertaken to obtain information on some of the educational and social factors associated with high and low student mobility. All sixth-grade children from low-income families in Minneapolis inner-city schools were compared with children from families of better than average incomes living in the outlying areas of the city. Using Minneapolis test norms as a point of reference, inner-city youth show up much less favorably than do comparison youth, in areas of school achievement, absenteeism, teacher ratings, delinquency, and home environment. High-mobility youth in both test groups do less well than low-mobility youth, but high mobility youth in the inner-city group show the greatest number of deficiencies of all groups. The results of this report suggest the hypothesis that extensive mobility has less effect on children among families with above average incomes than it does on the poor.
