Abstract | The primary objective of this study was to develop an instrument to measure student attitudes toward individualized and laboratory instruction during a specific period of instruction such as an hour, day, week, or month. Positive and negative statements relating to these attitudes were developed and screened by five professors. The resulting 50 statements were randomly ordered and a Likert scale was used to collect student responses. Pilot test results involving 60 students were item analyzed and three items were deleted. A reliability coefficient of .918 and a mean intra-item correlation of .18 were obtained. Other statistical tests were conducted using other students. The "Shop and Laboratory Attitude Inventory" is included. (EM) |
