| Abstract | This document presents possible ways in which Permanent Education in France could develop, based on experiments and research carried out at the Centre Universitaire de Cooperation Economique et Sociale (CUCES) and at the Institut National pour la Formation des Adults (INFA). Part one includes the following: the good to be had from continuing education (social and functional); the need for the teacher to move with the adult; the advisability of relating training to daily life to make it meaningful; the observation that within an institution, top level personnel must be trained if the training received by the subordinates is to be fruitful. Included are reports on programs run by the two organizations; and stated is their aim to investigate adult education and youth education as part of one permanent, continuing process. Part two deals with research at the "CUCES-INFA" Complex in 1966-67. Part three views the training of adults as dependent on the process of socialization that society sets in motion, and therefore attempts to examine its permanence. (nl) |
