Abstract | A SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM FOR AGRICULTURAL MIGRANT CHILDREN WAS IMPLEMENTED IN CONNECTICUT DURING 1967. EIGHTY CHILDREN IN 4 SCHOOL DISTRICTS PARTICIPATED IN THIS PROGRAM WHICH WAS SUPPORTED UNDER TITLE I OF ESEA. SPECIAL EMPHASES WERE PLACED ON INDIVIDUAL LANGUAGE INSTRUCTION AND SELF EVALUATION BY THE STUDENTS. TEACHERS AND OTHER STAFF MEMBERS CARRIED ON AN EXTENSIVE HOME VISITATION SCHEDULE. THE MOST EFFECTIVE INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES WERE THE FIELD TRIPS (DAYS AT THE SHORE, PARK, ZOO, AND FARM), WHERE CAMERAS WERE UTILIZED, AND LATER IN THE CLASSROOMS THE PICTURES WERE USED FOR REINFORCEMENT.
