Abstract	This paper will discuss the global goals from MDGs to SDGs related to Azerbaijan in a way so it would be accessible and understandable for everybody, with and without background knowledge in the economy of Azerbaijan or the global goals agenda. To do so, the paper starts with an overview about Azerbaijan by gathering the country's relevant data and characteristics, before starting the introduction of the global goals, which are divided into two big blocks. The first block, which is related to the MDG agenda, treats the performance, implementation and the shortcomings of each MDG, which is important to understand with regard of the SDGs. The second big block is going to introduce the SDGs by working out the characteristics of the new goals and the differences between them and the former ones before it starts to elaborate among others the reason for Azerbaijan's need to implement the new global goals or the discussion about challenges and opportunities the country is currently facing.
