Abstract	Germany, with the highest population rate in Europe, has been criticized sharply for its education system, especially after disappointing international test results, which have resulted in several reforms. The most recent reform has been introduced by the standing conference KMK in the year 2016, and all the states had to revise their curricula according to the newly adopted strategy of digitalization. The states and schools have been able to adjust their program according to their needs as the curriculum provides an overall framework with general objectives. This decentralized and multi-track school system of Germany makes it quite complex to evaluate in a unit form. However, this chapter aims to examine especially the English language program implemented at the primary school level in the state of Saxony. The approaches adopted and innovations addressed are included as it sheds light on a decentralized system with high achievement of English language proficiency among students.
