Abstract | Ecuador is a country in northwestern South America and is originally home to various Indigenous Indian tribes. In Ecuador, all educational programs (primary and secondary) are mandated by the Ministry of Education, except for higher education, which is regulated by a national technical council. This chapter introduces the features of the overall education system, and the language teaching system of Ecuador explicitly examines Ecuador's national curriculum by putting emphasis on foreign language education fundamentally and gives relevant recommendations for improvements. |
