Abstract | Resettlement as an instrument of regular flight*migration is intended to ofer particularly vulnerable individuals the possibility of needs-based resettlement in safe countries. Using an inclusive literature review; a quantitative telephone survey and qualitative in-depth interviews; the InclusiveRE study explores how inclusive humanitarian admission programmes in Germany (and Canada) are for those with experiences of disability. Theoretically and methodologically; we draw on intersectionality models. The literature review already points to gaps in research and practice. Based on the results of the survey; which was conducted with 51 people living in Germany; it becomes clear that people in Germany are confronted with barriers in accessing services. Exclusion mechanisms can become even more potent due to intersectional overlaps. Subjective interpretations of these situations are currently being collected in the third sub-project. On the basis of their results and in international comparison; they can formulate some pointers for closing gaps in care and making resettlement more inclusive. |
